Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Covid Hypocrisy & Government Mandates
"The false binary set up by AOC is entirely astonishing. She posits that Republicans must keep their mouth shut regarding her Covid hypocrisy; otherwise, they are in love with her."
News & Commentary
The Covid-19 hypocrisy continues apace among the Democratic elite. Democrats have crammed down restrictive, life-altering, ineffective government mandates onto the population as a whole. They have publicly called for and instituted mandatory masking, social distancing, and bans on indoor dining. Democrats then condemn anyone who does not strictly adhere to their mandates. Yet, in secret, those same Democrats violate their own mandates, as if the rules do not apply to them. “Rules for thee, but not for me” appears to be their motto.
Here are just a few examples of Democrats who were caught violating their own Covid rhetoric:
Speaker Nancy Pelosi was caught maskless on two separate occasions - at a hair appointment and a wedding.
In 2020, California Governor Gavin Newsom attended a dinner at the ritzy “French Laundry” without masking or social distancing. That dinner was also indoors, despite most Democrats at that time pushing for bans on indoor dining. Newsom’s team subsequently lied, claiming that the dinner was outdoors. Pictures emerged, proving that to be untrue.
Washington, DC mayor Muriel Bowser, along with hundreds of other unmasked wedding guests, violated Bowser’s mask mandate on the same day the mandate was re-instated in July 2021.
Finally, Congresswoman Maxine Waters was recently photographed on an airplane, without a mask, in direct violation of the Biden administration’s mask requirement on planes and other forms of public transportation. These are just a few of the many examples of the Democratic Covid hypocrisy, which we have seen since the start of the pandemic.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Covid Hypocrisy
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is the latest Democrat to overtly violate her own Covid rhetoric. She has been a strong proponent of mandatory masking, vaccination, social distancing, and other Covid-19 related measures.
Last week Ocasio-Cortez vacationed in Florida. While in Florida, images emerged of AOC at a drag bar. She was unmasked and not socially distanced in a large crowd. Republicans were quick to point out this blatant hypocrisy. While AOC publicly favors masking and social distancing mandates, she seems completely unwilling to practice what she preaches. AOC demonstrated once again that the masking and social distancing requirements are all political theatre.
In private, even the strongest Democratic advocates of Covid mandates seem to understand that there is no reason to be disproportionately afraid of the virus at this point in the pandemic. Unfortunately, in public, they continue pushing the narrative that masking and social distancing are necessary and effective - neither of which is true.
Instead of admitting her lack of consistency regarding Covid-19 mandates and allowing the news cycle to move on, AOC doubled down on stupidity and made a complete fool of herself. In a poor attempt to deflect attention onto Republicans, Ocasio-Cortez claimed that any Republican who called out her Covid hypocrisy secretly wants to date her. In a Twitter thread posted on New Year’s Eve, AOC stated
“If Republicans are mad they can’t date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend’s feet. Ya creepy weirdos.”
“It’s starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women, & LGBT+ people in general. These people clearly need therapy, won’t do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It’s really weird”
The false binary set up by AOC is entirely astonishing. She posits that Republicans must keep their mouth shut regarding her Covid hypocrisy; otherwise, they are in love with her.
Someone should inform Ms. Ocasio-Cortez that a “secret” third option exists. The third option is that Republicans pointing out AOC’s hypocrisy have zero interest in dating her; simultaneously, they are tired of watching Democratic politicians advocate for Covid-19 government mandates, which they do not even comply with themselves. The assertion by AOC that Republican critics, with valid criticisms of her, have an underlying desire to date her depicts narcissism of the highest order.
Legally, AOC has the right to vacation in Florida. She has the right to visit a bar, without masking or social distancing. However, she does not have the right to do those things without facing enormous political backlash. Ocasio-Cortez openly argued for mandating masks, social distancing, and vaccinations. Subsequently, she elected to vacation in Florida, a state where the government does not mandate those measures. If AOC wants to enjoy the freedom associated with being in Florida, where each individual is permitted to make personal decisions regarding which, if any, Covid “precautions” they take – then she ought to change her stance on Covid-19 government mandates. Until then, it is only fitting that she is called out for her hypocritical actions and lack of consistency regarding her Covid rhetoric.
Covid Related Government Mandates
Democrats could end this insanity by simply ending the mandates. Today, it is widely known that cloth masks and surgical masks are generally ineffective at stopping the spread of Covid-19. We knew this even before the Omicron variant was the dominant variant. Now that Omicron is infecting people at a rate 70 times that of the Delta variant, it renders masking even more ineffective than previous studies showed. We also know that the social distancing requirement of “6 feet” was entirely made up by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), with no scientific data to support that measure. Finally, it is clear that vaccine mandates are wholly unnecessary since both vaccinated and unvaccinated people are spreading Covid-19. Individuals should be free to make personal health decisions without mandates from the government. If someone wants to mask, vaccinate, or socially distance, they are entirely free to do so. However, there is no sufficient evidence to support governments at any level mandating those measures.

There’s an old saying that says, “What goes around comes around.”
And that includes the Omicron virus.
Although it’s not fun when anyone catches the virus, it is poetic justice that a recent victim was 34-year-old Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez or AOC to most of the country.
AOC was absolutely giddy when she went to a Drag Queen Brunch and was photographed hugging and kissing drag queens without any thought of catching the virus. And just as bad, she now risks spreading the virus to older people around her who don’t have the natural resistance to the virus that a vibrant person 34 years old has.
Truthfully, AOC has been a terrible congresswoman for her constituents in parts of the Bronx and in Queens. Many have complained that she spends almost all her time in Washington DC, and most recently Miami. Her office in NY City sees her as often as we see the Jets or Giants win a ballgame.
What will this ditz do next?
